We’re looking for able volunteers to help during key times in the season. This might be putting up tents, working with our professional ménage team de-winterising mobile homes or helping with our full-time greens team to make the site look beautiful.

Our plan is that you will get to LPO under your own steam - we can book ferries if you wish. You will enjoy being allocated your own mobile home with bedding and towels supplied. In the morning we will enjoy a short time of worship and a thought for the day, followed by getting on with the job in hand. Then in the evenings barbeques will be available as you self-cater. A limited bar may be open depending on the time of year for us to enjoy spending time together. And of course on Sunday we will enjoy coming together in the morning for a time of worship and celebration.

If this sounds like you then read on to understand a bit more about the teams and how to apply.

Team Montage

Headed up by a professional from our site team you will help us erect and equip all our fixed tents. It’s not a job for the faint hearted so you will need to be fit to help us here. Once the 57 tents are up then we put up the marquees for the children’s groups, the star tents, then clean and set up the marquee that we enjoy for worship, so it’s ready to go. Then in September we take 'em all down again.....

Team Mobile Homes

Led by our professional ménage team you will be helping de-winterise our mobile homes after the winter shut down. This involves setting up the furniture, thoroughly cleaning the mobile home (there will be spiders…), sorting out the outdoor furniture, then an exterior clean to make sure they are in perfect condition for our guests. Likewise at the end of the season we need a team to prepare our accommodation for the rigours of winter so it's in perfect condition again the following season.

Team Greens

If you enjoy gardening this is the one for you - we have one enormous garden at LPO! We’ll be clearing up leaves, pruning trees, raking, sweeping and planting. Kilometres of hedges will be cut and acres of emplacement will be mown, all overseen by our professional staff. In addition we need those with an eye for detail to work on the flower beds to make them look excellent, plant out our hanging baskets and planters. Finally we will need folk to plant out our vegetable garden so we can enjoy home grown tomatoes during the season.

We usually ask you to work Monday to Friday each week but there is no binding contract - as a bénévole, you're a volunteer member of our non-profit Association with no employment-type obligations. If finances are a challenge, let us know as we may be able to arrange sponsorship to cover your travel expenses.

Over the early May bank holiday weekend (3-6 May 2024) extra volunteers travel to LPO to join the animateur team and local staff for Le Grand Weekend. This combines animateur training and orientation with a host of pre-season preparations and a focus on prayer for the season ahead. We would love you to join us then.

To enable our on-site team to organise, prioritise and schedule we ask that all applications to join the volunteer team go via our online application system. Thank you!

Apply online here. Or if you have questions, please email us at [email protected].
